Short Bio

Hi everyone – I am Amy Nance Lewis, a 1993 graduate of the Belk College of Business.  My degree was in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. 

I started working for Belk Dept. stores when I was a sophomore at UNC Charlotte as a sales associate and worked there for 25 years.  I worked my way up to the sales supervisor, Store Executive Trainee, and Area Sales Manager right after graduation.  After several years of in-store management, I moved to the corporate office as an Assistant Buyer in the Home store (dinnerware, small electrics, china, crystal, and silver) and ladies Moderate Shoes (think Lifestride & Easy Spirit – not very glamorous…but very profitable).  I held positions in inventory replenishment, store planning, and allocation and was most recently a Program Manager in the Talent, Learning & Development Dept. I was lucky enough to design and lead the 15-week Store Manager and Merchant Executive Trainee programs over a 10-year period. My last Belk position was as the Human Resources Manager at Belk -SouthPark.  A $72M store with over 400 employees. 

In 2017 I was recruited to Family Dollar to be the HR Manager for their Corporate location in Matthews.  The corporate office consolidated to VA in 2018, I wanted to stay in Charlotte near family – so I shifted my career to Healthcare and joined Charlotte Radiology in 2019 as the Asst. Director of HR. 

It has been a wonderful learning experience – I can draw on my retail experience, but am learning a new industry everyday…..it’s very exciting! 

I was recently promoted to Sr. Director of HR overseeing all HR functions for Charlotte Radiology, Windsong Radiology in Buffalo, NY & Upstate Carolina Radiology in Spartanburg, SC.

I just completed my 2nd term on the CLT Alumni Board of Directors -- my focus has been on Campus Engagement & Community Service. I proudly serve on the Belk College Alumni Council and as a Women in Business Associate. I am certified as a Sr. Professional in HR and am a Gallup - Strength Finders Coach.

I live in Matthews with my husband, also a UNC Charlotte class of '93 graduate (BS Mathematics) and our two adult daughters. I'm thrilled to be working with the Belk College Women in Business Ambassadors.
